Creations from Bluewater Copper Works are individually hand-crafted from solid copper by R. Hanes Hoffman Jr. I have been creating this art since 1997 and I am grateful for everyday in my studio! I use a variety of hand tools to achieve authentic detail of each species. Works are then painted with flame to produce beautiful markings and iridescent colors. Each piece is then finished with a clear coating to deter oxidation. This work is three-dimensional, one-sided, bas-relief sculpture. Each piece is fitted with a hanger on the reverse, ready to hang on a hook. This art is functional for outdoor as well as indoor use.
R. Hanes Hoffman Jr. is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, who lives and works in Western, North Carolina. An avid fisherman, mountain biker, naturalist and world traveler, I take pride in capturing the essence of each species of wildlife depicted in my sculptures.
The works seen here are bas-relief, three-dimensional, one-sided pieces, designed to hang on a wall. The pieces are measured by total length not fork length, as you would a fish from the water.
They are very versatile and can be displayed in a variety of locations in your home ,office or on your boat. When hanging the art, it is best viewed at or above eye level which allows you to see the full spectrum of colors each piece radiates. As you move about and the light changes in the room, you will see new and different highlights of color.
These pieces are made to order. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Possibly longer during holiday times
